Centrelink online account help - Change your withholding percentage for Child Care Subsidy

Instructions on how to change your withholding percentage for Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

We keep 5% of your CCS entitlement until the end of the financial year. This helps reduce the chance of you getting an overpayment.

Once you confirm your income for the financial year, we’ll balance your CCS to check you’ve been paid the right amount. Find out more about CCS balancing outcomes.

You can change your withholding percentage to suit your situation. You can do this online using your Centrelink online account up to twice a year. Find out more about how to manage your payment when things change.
