Disaster Recovery Allowance

Support if you’ve lost income as a direct result of Western Australia Tropical Cyclone Narelle that started in March 2026.

Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) is financial support if you’ve lost income as a direct result of this disaster.

To get DRA you must meet all eligibility rules, including working or living in one of the following declared areas. You can find all eligibility rules by checking who can get it.

You have until 7 October 2026 to make a claim for the following Local Government Areas (LGAs):

  • Ashburton
  • Carnarvon
  • Exmouth
  • Shark Bay
  • Upper Gascoyne
  • Yalgoo.

You can see which LGA you’re in by entering your address into the Western Australian Government’s find your local council tool.

You may also be eligible for Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment. If you’re eligible, you can get both Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment and DRA.
