A payment to help you if you’ve been released from prison or psychiatric confinement.
To get this you must:
- be eligible for an income support payment or ABSTUDY Living Allowance
- be in severe financial hardship
- have been charged with committing an offence
- have spent 14 or more days in prison or psychiatric confinement
- be in Australia when you make your claim.
You must contact us within 7 days of being released from prison or psychiatric confinement.
