Disaster Recovery Allowance

Disaster Recovery Allowance was available if you lost income as a direct result of North Queensland Rainfall and Flooding that started in December 2025 and ended in February 2026.

Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) was financial support to help if you lost income as a direct result of this disaster. To get DRA you had to meet all eligibility rules, including working or living in one of the following declared areas. You can find all eligibility rules by checking who can get it.

Claims closed 19 September 2026 for the following Local Government Areas (LGAs):

  • Burke
  • Carpentaria
  • Cassowary Coast
  • Central Highlands

  • Doomadgee
  • Etheridge
  • Flinders
  • Isaac
  • Livingstone

  • McKinlay
  • Mount Isa
  • Palm Island
  • Pormpuraaw
  • Richmond
  • Townsville
  • Whitsunday
  • Winton
  • Yarrabah.

Late claims will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances. To claim, call the Emergency information line.
