Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment

A lump sum payment that was available to help people affected by Queensland Rainfall and Flooding that started in February to March 2026 and ended in May 2026.

Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) was to help you if the disaster caused major damage to your home or major assets that you own at your home. It can also help you if you were seriously injured or your immediate family member has died or is missing.

To get AGDRP you had to meet all eligibility rules, including being directly affected in one of the following declared areas. You can find all eligibility rules by checking who can get it.

Claims closed 19 September 2026 for the following areas:

  • Chinchilla in Western Downs Local Government Area (LGA)
  • Bundaberg Central in Bundaberg LGA
  • Bundaberg East in Bundaberg LGA
  • Bundaberg North in Bundaberg LGA
  • Bundaberg South in Bundaberg LGA.

Late claims can only be accepted in exceptional circumstances. To claim, call the Emergency information line.

You can see which LGA you’re in by entering your address into the Queensland Government’s find your local council tool.

If you lost income as a direct result of this disaster, you may also be eligible for Disaster Recovery Allowance. If you’re eligible, you can get both AGDRP and Disaster Recovery Allowance.

If you’re a New Zealand citizen living in Australia, check if you’re eligible for both:
