New Zealand Disaster Recovery Payment (NZ DRP) is to help you if the disaster caused major damage to your home or major assets that you own at your home. It can also help you if you were seriously injured or your immediate family member has died or is missing.
To get NZ DRP you must meet all eligibility rules, including being directly affected in one of the following declared areas. You can find all eligibility rules by checking who can get it.
You have until 19 September 2026 to make a claim for the following areas:
- Chinchilla in Western Downs Local Government Area (LGA)
- Bundaberg Central in Bundaberg LGA
- Bundaberg East in Bundaberg LGA
- Bundaberg North in Bundaberg LGA
- Bundaberg South in Bundaberg LGA.

If you lost income as a direct result of this disaster, you may also be eligible for New Zealand Disaster Recovery Allowance. If you’re eligible, you can get both NZ DRP and New Zealand Disaster Recovery Allowance.
