If you use a title such as Ms or Mr you can update your title with us. You can also choose not to use a title.
We don’t need supporting documents to change, add or remove a title from your name or preferred name.
If your Child Support online account is linked to myGov, you can change a name, or add or remove a title online.
To do this:
- Sign into myGov.
- Select Child Support online account.
- From the MENU select My Profile, then Update my name.
- Follow the prompts to edit an existing name or preferred name, or add or remove a title.

If you don’t have a myGov account or a Child Support online account, you can create them. You can also update your name or title by phoning us or writing to us.
You can also:
- update your name and title with Centrelink
- update your name or title with Medicare by phoning Medicare.
