They only need to meet 1 and they may include:
- being geographically isolated
- having a special education need
- not having access to a suitable government school.
If your child’s circumstances change, it may affect whether they can get AIC or when it might stop. There are continuity conditions that may apply to their situation.

Call us on the Assistance for Isolated Children line to let us know if your circumstances change.
You may be eligible if your child can’t go to the local government school because your child needs to study from home or attend a different school.
You might be eligible if the child you’re claiming for doesn’t have daily access to a suitable government school.
