Your options and obligations for Carer Payment.
You need to report your income regularly. Read our online guide and learn how to report your income using your online account.
You can still get Carer Payment if someone else provides care while you have a break, or the person you provide care for goes into hospital.
You can request to transfer to Carer Payment or Carer Allowance for an adult. To do this, the child you provide care for must be turning 16.
We may pay Carer Payment if you leave Australia for a short time. You must keep meeting Carer Payment rules at all times.
If you get Carer Payment and you’re Age Pension age, you can apply to transfer to Age Pension.
