You don’t need to apply for a Pensioner Concession Card.
Eligible payments
We’ll automatically send you a Pensioner Concession Card if you get one of the following payments:
Your Parenting Payment single ends when your youngest child turns 14. You can keep your card for 12 weeks after your Parenting Payment ends.
If you're 55 or older
We’ll also automatically send you a Pensioner Concession Card if you’re 55 or older and get one of the following payments for more than 9 months:
- JobSeeker Payment
- Parenting Payment partnered
- Special Benefit and you’re an Australian resident.
If you have a partial capacity to work
We’ll automatically send you a Pensioner Concession Card if you have a partial capacity to work and you're getting any of the following payments:
- JobSeeker Payment
- Parenting Payment partnered
- Youth Allowance as a job seeker.
If you find a job, you may be able to keep your card for a short time.
If you’re a single principal carer
We’ll automatically send you a Pensioner Concession Card if you’re a single principal carer and getting one of the following payments:
- Jobseeker Payment
- Youth Allowance as a job seeker.
If you have a Social Security Agreement with New Zealand
You can get a Pensioner Concession Card if you get an eligible payment under a Social Security Agreement with New Zealand.
If you don’t automatically get a Pensioner Concession Card, you should call us on your regular Centrelink payment line.
