Changes from 4 October 2022
From 4 October 2022, some health care locations will lose access to adaptor technology for Medicare Online, including Department of Veterans Affairs and the Australian Immunisation Register. We’ll let you know if this applies to you.
You may not lose your access straight away, it can take up to 6 to 8 weeks from 4 October.
If your location is impacted, you’ll need web services and PRODA compatible software to submit claims and data using Medicare Online. You can also use Health Professional Online Services (HPOS), if your software is not upgraded in time.
Contact your software developer or eBusiness Service Centre on 1800 700 199 for more information.
If you’re using ECLIPSE or PBS Online you won’t lose your access yet.
About web services
Healthcare locations need to use web services compatible software to access the following digital health channels:
- Medicare Online (including AIR and DVA)
- PBS Online.
This change ensures our channels are secure and using up-to-date, industry standard technology.
If you use an alternative channel and don’t use software to submit claims and data to us, you aren't impacted. Find out more about the alternative online options for health professionals.
