To be eligible for Child Care Subsidy you must meet the residence rules.
When gifting exceptions apply
We have some exceptions to how we assess gifting.
Funeral bonds and prepaid funerals
Funeral costs you pay for in advance normally don’t count in your assets test for payments from us. There are some exceptions.
How gifting can affect your payment
If you or your partner gift money, income or assets, we may assess it in your income and assets tests.
Private Trust form (MOD PT)
Use this form if in the last 5 years, you or your partner have been involved with or have transferred funds or assets to a private trust that has not been vested.

How we assess granny flat interests
You need to tell us the value of the granny flat interest so we can assess if this affects your payments.
Asset hardship provisions
We may stop, reject or reduce your payment because of the assets test. If this is the case, you may be able to apply under the asset hardship provisions.
Gifting
If you give away your income or assets, they may still count towards your income and assets tests. This also applies if you sell them for less than they’re worth.
Income from employment
If you or your partner get income from employment you need to tell us. This is so we can pay you the right amount.
