Important information for payments made to bank accounts outside Australia

International banks need certain details before they can accept Australian pension payments. Banks in some countries will need additional information such as your home address, telephone number or personal identification information.

There may be payment delays if your bank does not get all the information it needs from us. In some cases, a bank may reject a payment.

To help avoid payment delays, make sure you do all the following:

• complete all the questions in the bank form
• provide a bank statement that validates your account details
• keep your contact details and bank account information up to date with us and your bank.

Remember, the account information you provide must match the details held by your bank.

You can get paid by direct deposit into a bank account in the following countries and regions. Download and complete the form for the country your bank account is held in. The form states the currency used to make your payment. Please make sure your account can accept the currency used.

Note: Do not forget to attach a copy of your bank statement.

Countries with payment restrictions

Some countries have payment restrictions. We may not be able to pay you if you are in one of these countries:

• Cuba
• Iran
• Democratic People’s Republic of Korea - known as North Korea
• Russian Federation
• Sudan
• Syria.
