Child Care Subsidy

Assistance to help you with the cost of child care.

To get this you must:

  • care for a child 13 or younger who's not attending secondary school, unless an exemption applies
  • use an approved child care service
  • be responsible for paying the child care fees
  • meet residency and immunisation requirements.

Read the full conditions under who can get it.

Make sure you get the right amount of Family Tax Benefit (FTB) and Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Update your family income estimate for the 2020-21 financial year.

Child Care Subsidy and Additional Child Care Subsidy won’t be paid between 6 April and 28 June 2020. You won’t need to pay fees if you access child care during this time. You should speak to your child care service if you need to enrol or re-enrol your child in child care. Read about your family payments if you’re affected by coronavirus (COVID-19).
