Inclusive Employment Australia

Inclusive Employment Australia is an employment service program that can help you prepare for, find and keep a job if you have disability, injury or health conditions.

Inclusive Employment Australia replaced Disability Employment Services (DES) on 1 November 2025.

In this program you can:

  • get support from providers with experience working with people with a range of disabilities
  • get ready to work, including work preparation, skill and confidence building, training, writing a resume, interview skills, work experience and work trials
  • maintain your job through on-the-job training, ongoing support in your workplace, or targeted help for your employer
  • access personalised support for as long as you need it.

Who can take part

You may be eligible for Inclusive Employment Australia if:

  • you have disability, injury or health conditions
  • you’re looking for work or need help to maintain employment.

You can volunteer to be in the program even if you don’t get a payment from us.

How to take part

If you’re getting a payment from us, we may refer you to Inclusive Employment

Australia or you can register directly through a provider.

If you’re not getting a payment from us, you can register directly through a provider.

In most cases, you can choose a provider that best suits your needs and change your provider at any time.

Search for a local Inclusive Employment Australia provider on the Workforce Australia website.

We may ask you to attend an Employment Services Assessment appointment to assess your work capacity and confirm your eligibility for Inclusive Employment Australia.

How this program helps you meet your requirements

If you’re a job seeker and have mutual obligation requirements, Inclusive Employment Australia can help you meet your requirements.

If you get Disability Support Pension (DSP) and you’re under 35 you may have participation requirements to help you prepare for, find and keep suitable work. You can meet these requirements by taking part in Inclusive Employment Australia.

Pause of requirements

There’s currently a pause of mutual obligation and participation requirements for all Inclusive Employment Australia participants. The pause started on16 October 2025 and will end on and including 5 January 2026. This is due to the transition from DES to Inclusive Employment Australia.

During this period, no payment suspensions or financial penalties will apply if you don’t meet your requirements.

Program of Support

A Program of Support (POS) helps people with disability to prepare for, find and keep a job.

If you make a claim for DSP, you may need to show you’ve participated in a POS.

Inclusive Employment Australia is one of several suitable POS programs. Read more about Program of Support if you're claiming DSP.
