There’s ABSTUDY support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students doing a masters or doctorate.
How child support affects FTB Part A payment rates
The more child support you receive or are entitled to, the less FTB you may get. This is called the Maintenance Income Test.
Income from employment
If you or your partner get income from employment you need to tell us. This is so we can pay you the right amount.

You can get help to access your money if you have an overdrawn bank account.

Use this form to tell us that you, as an authorised person or organisation, want to cancel a nominee arrangement.

Use this form to provide parental income if you’re the parent or guardian of someone claiming Youth Allowance or ABSTUDY.
Income from outside Australia
Income you get from outside Australia can count in your income test.
Immunisation medical exemptions
You may be able to get an exemption from having a vaccine if there is a valid medical reason.
Funeral bonds and prepaid funerals
Funeral costs you pay for in advance normally don’t count in your assets test for payments from us. There are some exceptions.
