Register to receive General Practice Training Payments

You need to register to receive General Practice Training Payments (GPTP) as a participant in the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program.

If you’re an eligible participant in the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program you need to register to receive General Practice Training Payments (GPTP).

There are 7 types of GPTP. Some payments are paid to a practice, while others are paid to an individual.

You need to provide banking details with your GPTP registration so we can process your payment.

You need access to the following systems to register your practice as a GPTP recipient:

Practices receiving a payment must register in the Organisation Register, through HPOS, as a GPTP recipient.

To register your practice as a GPTP recipient:

  1. Log in to PRODA to access HPOS.
  2. Select the Associated Sites tab.
  3. Select the Organisation site record for the site you want to register.
  4. Select Program registration.
  5. Select New program, then choose GPTP from the drop-down menu.
  6. Select Add program, Submit and Save.
  7. Select Details under the Action Column
  8. Add the relevant Banking details.
  9. Select Submit then Save.

You need to tell us of any change in your practice’s business circumstances, such as a change of practice ownership.

We may not be able to process your payment when practice information is not up to date in the Organisation Register.

You need access to the following systems to register as an individual GPTP recipient to receive your payment:

Individuals receiving a payment should register in HPOS as a GPTP recipient.

To register as a GPTP recipient:

  1. Log in to PRODA to access HPOS.
  2. Select No organisation to proceed as an individual only.
  3. Select the My details tile.
  4. Select My Personal details.
  5. Select My Banking details.
  6. Select Add from under the Action column.
  7. Add the relevant Banking details.
  8. Complete the Acknowledgement.
  9. Select Submit then Save.
