Register for MyMedicare

You can register for MyMedicare using your online account or with your general practitioner. You can change or withdraw at any time.

Before registering, check your eligibility for MyMedicare on the Department of Health and Aged Care website.

Your general practice may send you a request in myGov. This will be for your consent to register in MyMedicare with your practice. Registration in MyMedicare is voluntary. You can either accept or decline this request. You can do this by selecting either:

  • complete registration request
  • decline registration.

You can only register with one general practice at a time and with one preferred general practitioner (GP).

We’ll never ask you for money to release your information or fix your account. Read more about How to protect against scams.
