Run off Cover Indemnity Scheme (ROCS)
This scheme helps Medical Defence Organisations (MDOs) and Medical Indemnity Insurers (MII) cover claims made against medical practitioners who are not working.
The ROCS reimburses MDOs and MIIs for 100% of the costs of claims against medical practitioners who have stopped working.
The ongoing costs of this scheme are met by the Run Off Cover Support Payment. This is a levy payable by MDO’s and MII’s.
The Medical Indemnity Act 2002 is the legislation that applies to ROCS.
Read the Medical Indemnity Act 2002 on the Federal Register of Legislation website.
A ROCS application can only be made against certain medical practitioners. Applications can only be submitted by a representative of an eligible MII or MDO.
You need to use the Medical Indemnity Online Claims (MIOC) service in HPOS to submit an application under the ROCS.
