Exceptional Claims Indemnity Scheme (ECS)
Under the ECS the government funds 100% of the claims made against a medical professional once the claim has exceeded the limit of the medical practitioner's indemnity insurance contract.
Allied Health Exceptional Claims Indemnity Scheme (AH ECS)
Under the AH ECS the government funds 100% of the claims made against an allied health professional once the claim has exceeded the limit of the allied health professional’s indemnity insurance contract.
The Medical Indemnity Act 2002 is the legislation that applies to the ECS and the AH ECS.
