Income and assets tests for Parenting Payment
The amount of Parenting Payment you can get depends on your income and assets as well as your partner’s, if you have one.
Income
Most types of income count in your income test. We use this and your assets test to assess if you can get a payment, and to calculate your rate of payment.
Scheduled reporting
If you need to report your employment income, it’ll usually be every 14 days, on a date we tell you. We call this scheduled reporting.
Income from self employment
If you’re self employed you need to tell us about your business income. This is so we can pay you the right amount. You also need to tell us if this changes.
Keep your BasicsCard for Income Management safe
It is important to keep your BasicsCard safe. Tell us as soon as you can if your BasicsCard is lost, stolen or damaged, and don’t tell anyone your PIN.
When to verify your address and accommodation details for Rent Assistance
If you get Rent Assistance you should verify your address and accommodation details within 14 days if there’s a change.
