Under this scheme, the government reimburses 100% of eligible claim cost incurred. This is for claims above the $2 million threshold.
Applications can only be made against an eligible midwife that meet the criteria for a claim.
A claim may be eligible under the scheme, if it:
- relates to an incident that occurs in the course of, or in connection with, the practice of an eligible midwife
- has been certified as a qualifying claim
- relates to an incident that occurred on or after 1 July 2010
- exceeds the eligible midwife’s insurance contract.
If you have an eligible claim, read about how to apply for payment under the L2 Claims Scheme.
