You may get a higher rate of payment. This will depend on how much Family Tax Benefit was paid for the child before they became an orphan. We’ll assess your eligibility when we process your claim and make any adjustments to your payment. You don’t need to contact us.
Double Orphan Pension is a non-taxable payment. The payment rate is reviewed and updated on 1 January each year.

To make sure we’re paying you the right amount, we review your payment either:
- every 2 years
- when your circumstances change.
After we review your payment the amount of Double Orphan Pension you get may change.
