Using your physical EBT card

You can use your physical Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card to buy goods and services or get cash out at ATMs or point of sale terminals subject to limits.

You need to collect a physical EBT care from a service centre.

How to pay using EFTPOS

When you use your EBT card at a Point of Service (POS) terminal to buy goods or services:

  1. Tap, swipe or insert your card.
  2. Select Savings - SAV, or cheque - CHQ as the account type if prompted.
  3. Cover your PIN when you enter it, to keep it safe.

If the merchant allows you may be able to get cash out too.

How to get cash out at an ATM

To withdraw cash from an ATM with your EBT card:

  1. Insert your card.
  2. Cover your PIN when you enter it, to keep it safe.
  3. Select savings - SAV, or cheque - CHQ as the account type when prompted.
  4. Select Yes if the ATM says there’s a transaction fee. You won’t be charged the transaction fee on your EBT card.

Add your EBT card to Apple Pay

Add your EBT card to Google Wallet
