Temporary employment registers

We’re seeking talented people for non-ongoing or casual roles with us.

Non-ongoing or casual positions may become available across a range of:

  • locations
  • business areas
  • APS classifications.

Applications and eligibility

To be eligible for temporary employment with us, you must be:

  • an Australian Citizen
  • willing to undergo a National Criminal History records check
  • willing to obtain and maintain a security clearance if applicable to the position.

You can withdraw your application for temporary employment from the temporary registers at any time.

Rapid recruitment

When applying for our temporary employment registers, we may ask if you’re interested in rapid recruitment.

We use rapid recruitment to fill critical temporary employment vacancies. If you tell us that you’re available for rapid recruitment, you must be ready to start work on short notice.

Current registers

You can apply for non-ongoing employment within Services Australia through any of the following registers:

  • Temporary Service Officer Register - APS3 and APS4
  • Temporary Executive Support Register - APS4 to EL2
  • Temporary Professional Register - APS4 to EL2
  • Temporary Corporate Register - APS1 to EL2
  • Temporary Technology and Digital Programs Register - APS4 to EL2.

You can apply to multiple registers. You need to apply for each of the registers you would like to be considered for.

Submitting an application to a register doesn’t guarantee you’ll get an offer of temporary employment.
