Applications and eligibility
To be eligible for temporary employment with us, you must be:
- an Australian Citizen
- willing to undergo an eligibility and suitability check
- willing to obtain and maintain a security clearance if applicable to the position.
You can withdraw your application for temporary employment from the temporary registers at any time.
Rapid recruitment
When applying for our temporary employment registers, we may ask if you’re interested in rapid recruitment.
We use rapid recruitment to fill critical temporary employment vacancies. If you tell us that you’re available for rapid recruitment, you must be ready to start work on short notice.
Current registers
You can apply for non-ongoing employment within Services Australia through any of the following registers:
- Temporary Service Officer Register – APS3 to APS4
- Remote Temporary Employment Register (Identified) – APS3
- Temporary Executive Support Register – APS4 to EL2
- Temporary Corporate Register – APS1 to EL2
- Temporary Legal Professional Register – APS4 to EL2
- Temporary Health Services Register – APS5 to APS6
- Temporary Technology and Digital Programs Register – APS4 to EL2.

Submitting an application to a register doesn’t guarantee you’ll get an offer of temporary employment.
