Use this form if you are a student or Australian Apprentice who’s in lawful custody and wants to claim ABSTUDY.

This form can also be completed by a third party claiming money back for essential course costs.

Lawful custody is defined as imprisoned or detained in a corrective institution, remand centre or youth training centre for more than 2 weeks.

With your claim, you must also submit the ABSTUDY Lawful Custody Allowance claim for reimbursement form (SY108).
