How it affects income support payments
If you or your partner get periodic compensation payments, your income support payments may be affected.
Compensation payments can affect your income support payment differently.
If you weren’t getting income support at the time of your injury, for every dollar received in compensation, your income support payment is reduced by a dollar.
If you were getting income support at the time of your injury, we’ll assess any compensation under the income test.
If you have a partner who’s getting an income support payment, their payment may also be affected.
If you weren’t getting income support at the time of your injury but your partner was, your partner’s payment may be reduced if you apply for income support. How it affects family assistance payments
We use your family income estimate to work out how much family assistance to pay you.
Most periodic compensation payments are taxable and need to be included in your family income estimate. Read more about your family income estimate for family assistance payments.
