How to update your compensation income

If your periodic compensation payment changes, tell us by calling your normal payment line.

You’ll need to provide all of the following:

  • your periodic payment amount before tax
  • the date the payments changed
  • details if payment has stopped
  • any correspondence from your insurer.

You can upload correspondence from your insurer to your Centrelink online account.

If your compensation changes, you need to tell us before your next payment. You must tell us either:

  • on your regular reporting day when you’re scheduled to report your income
  • within 14 days if you’re not scheduled to report.

If your employer pays you workers compensation for any hours you’re unable to work, it isn’t employment income. Employment income is the pay you get for work you’ve done for an employer.
