When gifting exceptions apply
We have some exceptions to how we assess gifting.
Keeping your information safe when leaving a relationship
If you’re leaving a relationship or living with violence or abuse, there are some things you need to do to keep your personal information safe.
What gifts we include in income and assets tests
We may include your gift if you give away, sell or transfer it for less than its market value.
Private trusts and companies
If you’re part of a private trust or company, we need to know your share of the income and assets.
Asset hardship provisions
We may stop, reject or reduce your payment because of the assets test. If this is the case, you may be able to apply under the asset hardship provisions.
What the Financial Information Service is
The Financial Information Service helps you make informed decisions about your finances.
Objecting to a Child Support decision form (CS1893)
Use this form to object to a child support decision we made that you disagree with.
Income from employment
If you or your partner get income from employment you need to tell us. This is so we can pay you the right amount.
Unreasonable to live at home statement by parents or guardians form (SY016)
Use this form if your child has applied as an independent person for Youth Allowance or ABSTUDY under the unreasonable to live at home guidelines.
Rural customers and primary producers
Some rural properties and farms have more than one title or larger blocks than residential properties. The asset test rules are different for these properties.
