A message from the CEO - August 2026

How we’re making services simpler, safer and more responsive for our customers.

For most people, interacting with government services isn’t something they think about - until they need us.

It might be a reminder to complete an important task, help to resolve an issue, or support during a change in life circumstances. In these moments, what matters most is how simple are services are to use, how quickly we respond, and whether people feel supported and secure.

Across the agency, we’re making changes to reduce customer effort, help people build confidence using our services, and strengthen safeguards.

This edition highlights how we’re bringing our simple, helpful, respectful and transparent principles to life.

We’ve made it simpler for Australians to take part in the 2026 Census, bringing information, reminders and secure access together through myGov.

We’re helping customers build confidence using our online service through one-on-one digital coaching appointments.

And we’re helping Norfolk Island residents access the information, services and support they need to get on with their lives.

Together these changes reflect the continuing shift towards services that are simpler to access, and safer and more responsive to people’s needs.
