You can get both Carer Payment and Carer Allowance if you’re eligible

If you’re caring for someone, you may be able to get either Carer Payment or Carer Allowance, or both.

Carer Payment and Carer Allowance provide different types of financial support if you provide ongoing care for someone with a disability, a medical condition, or who is frail aged.

If you meet the rules, you can get both payments.

You can submit a combined claim online, over the phone, or in person. If you already get one payment, check if you’re eligible for the other.
