This includes payments for eHealth, quality improvement, teaching, Indigenous health, after hours care, procedural activities and loadings for rural locations.
If your practice's PIP application is successful, the practice will receive an initial PIP payment in the first payment quarter after approval. We make the payments by electronic funds transfer in February, May, August and November each year, as long as your practice continues to meet the eligibility criteria. Read more about how to get PIP payments.
We’ll automatically calculate entitlements for payments based on information received from the practice. This means it is important to inform us of any changes in your practice arrangements. To update your practice details use the Practice Incentives Change of practice details form (IP005).
Practice payments contribute to quality care. You may use the payment to:
- purchase new equipment
- upgrade facilities
- increase pay for practitioners working at the practice.
