Scammers use tax time to send fake myGov or refund messages designed to steal your payments and personal information.
Tax time is a common time for scammers to impersonate myGov, Services Australia or other government agencies.
They may send messages about refunds, payments or account issues to get you to click a link or open an attachment.
We won’t send links or files asking you to sign in to myGov.
