Repayments due to lump sum compensation

When you get a compensation lump sum, you may need to repay us a charge for your income support payments.

If you or your partner already get a payment from us, you must tell us within 7 days if either of you start to get any compensation payments.

When you get a compensation lump sum, you may need to repay the income support payments we paid you. We call this repayment a charge. The charge is the amount of income support payments you got during the preclusion period.

Generally, any repayments to us are taken out of your compensation payment by the insurer or compensation payer. The repayments are sent to us before the rest of it is paid to you. If this doesn’t happen, we’ll ask you to repay us.
