Sometimes your mutual obligation or participation requirements may be paused.

Mutual obligation requirements have been paused for some people in flood-affected areas.

Temporary pause of mutual obligation requirements for parts of New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria

Mutual obligation and participation requirements have been paused for some flood-affected New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria Local Government Areas (LGAs).

During this period, no payment suspensions or financial penalties will apply if you don’t meet your mutual obligation or participation requirements. You must still report any income you and your partner get every 2 weeks, even if it’s $0. This is so we can pay you the right amount.

New South Wales

Requirements have paused from 26 October 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGAs:

  • Moree Plains
  • Narrabri.

Requirements have paused from 8 November 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGAs:

  • Forbes
  • Gunnedah
  • Walgett.

Requirements have paused from 10 November 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGA:

  • Murray River.

Requirements have paused from 15 November 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGAs:

  • Bland
  • Cabonne
  • Lachlan
  • Parkes.

Requirements have paused from 17 November 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGA:

  • Cowra.

South Australia

Requirements have paused from 30 November 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGAs:

  • Alexandrina
  • Berri Barmera
  • Coorong District
  • Karoonda East Murray
  • Loxton Waikerie
  • Mid Murray
  • Murray Bridge
  • Renmark Paringa
  • Pastoral Unincorporated Area.

Victoria

Requirements have paused from 14 October 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following postcodes and LGAs:

  • Campaspe
  • Moira.

Requirements have paused from 17 October 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGA:

  • Gannawarra.

Requirements have paused from 30 November 2022 until 5 January 2023 inclusive in the following LGAs:

  • Mildura
  • Swan Hill
