For babies born or adopted from 1 July 2026, there’s an increase in the number of Parental Leave Pay days available.
The Paid Parental Leave Superannuation Contribution (PPLSC) will also start from July 2026, if your child was born or adopted from 1 July 2025.
Paid Parental Leave Superannuation Contribution (PPLSC)
If you get Parental Leave Pay for a child born or adopted from 1 July 2025, the ATO will pay a 12% superannuation contribution on this payment. In most circumstances, your PPLSC will be paid to the fund your superannuation is currently paid to, starting from July 2026.
Once you’ve submitted your Parental Leave Pay claim, you don’t need to do anything further. Your PPLSC will be paid automatically the following financial year after your payment starts. It’s a good idea to check your details are correct with us and the ATO.
If you share Parental Leave Pay with another person, each person is eligible for a contribution on their share of the payment.
