Paid patient claims
Medicare Easyclaim and paid patient claims.
There are 4 steps for paid patient claims:
- the patient or claimant pays as usual, for example, cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS, and their Medicare number is entered, or their Medicare card is swiped through the practice's EFTPOS terminal
- basic details are entered via the EFTPOS keypad or using the integrated practice management software. Short-cut keys can be used for provider IDs and common item numbers.
- the claim is sent to us for verification and an approval message is sent back to the EFTPOS terminal within seconds
- the patient swipes their EFTPOS card through the EFTPOS terminal and enters their PIN. If we accept the service, the benefit is paid directly to their bank account, almost immediately
