Residence rules for the Tertiary Access Payment
To be eligible for the Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) you must meet the residence rules.
Independent for Youth Allowance through full time work
You may be independent for Youth Allowance if you worked full time. You must have worked an average of 30 hours a week for at least 18 months within any 2 year period.
ABSTUDY School Term Allowance
A payment to help parents or guardians of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students. They need to be living at home.
Relocation Scholarship
A once a year payment if you get ABSTUDY or Youth Allowance. You must also need to move to or from a regional or remote area for higher education study.
Approved study or training for Education Entry Payment
You must study an approved course at an approved education provider to get Education Entry Payment (EdEP).
