Immediate family members may be eligible for the gifting concession if they get a pension and are of either:
- Age Pension age
- Service Pension age.

Immediate family members include all of the following:
- natural parents
- legal guardians
- adoptive parents
- step parents
- grandparents
- siblings.
How we define a sibling
The term sibling refers to a:
- brother
- sister
- half-brother
- half-sister
- adoptive brother
- adoptive sister
- step-brother
- step-sister.
