Who can get it

You need to get certain payments to get 1 or both Economic Support Payments.

There are 2 Economic Support Payments. You must get an eligible payment or concession card and be living in Australia to get 1 or both payments.

We’ll pay the Economic Support Payments straight into your bank account.

If you have a Cashless Debit Card we’ll pay the Economic Support Payments into your card. If you are income managed, the payments will be 100% income managed.

You won’t get the second Economic Support Payment if you get the Coronavirus Supplement.

First Economic Support Payment

You’ll get the first Economic Support Payment if you’re living in Australia and got 1 of the following between 12 March and 13 April 2020:

  • ABSTUDY Living Allowance
  • Age Pension
  • Austudy
  • Bereavement Allowance
  • Carer Allowance
  • Carer Payment
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  • Disability Support Pension
  • Double Orphan Pension
  • Family Tax Benefit Part A
  • Family Tax Benefit Part B
  • Farm Household Allowance
  • JobSeeker Payment
  • Newstart Allowance
  • Parenting Payment
  • Partner Allowance
  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Sickness Allowance
  • Special Benefit
  • Widow Allowance
  • Widow B Pension
  • Wife Pension
  • Youth Allowance.

Second Economic Support Payment

You may get the second Economic Support payment if you’re living in Australia and get 1 of the following on 10 July 2020:

  • Age Pension
  • Bereavement Allowance
  • Carer Allowance
  • Carer Payment
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  • Disability Support Pension
  • Double Orphan Pension
  • Family Tax Benefit A
  • Family Tax Benefit B
  • Pensioner Concession Card.

If you aren’t eligible for the second Economic Support Payment you may get the Coronavirus Supplement.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs customers

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) will pay you the Economic Support Payments. To get them you must be getting an eligible DVA benefit. Read more about which DVA benefits are eligible for the Economic Support Payments on the DVA website.
