Additional Child Care Subsidy
If you’re eligible for Child Care Subsidy you may be able to get extra help with the cost of approved child care.
To get this you must be eligible for Child Care Subsidy. And you need to be 1 of the following:
- an eligible grandparent getting an income support payment
- transitioning from certain income support payments to work
- experiencing temporary financial hardship.

Child Care Subsidy and Additional Child Care Subsidy won’t be paid between 6 April and 28 June 2020. You won’t need to pay fees if you access child care during this time. You should speak to your child care service if you need to enrol or re-enrol your child in child care. Read about your family payments if you’re affected by coronavirus (COVID-19).
You need to be eligible for Child Care Subsidy and meet extra criteria to be eligible for Additional Child Care Subsidy.
The amount of Additional Child Care Subsidy you can get depends on the type you’re eligible for.
You can apply for Additional Child Care Subsidy if you already get Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and meet certain criteria.
