Income Bank can help if you’re studying full-time and working

Published: 26 March 2026

Your Income Bank credits can offset your income, so you keep more of your student payment while you work.

When you get a student payment, any income you earn may reduce your payment. We start reducing your payment when your income is over $539 every fortnight, before tax.

Your Income Bank helps you keep more of your payment.

If you earn less than $539 in a fortnight, you can save the difference as a credit. Then, when you earn more than $539, we’ll use your income bank credits before lowering your student payment.
