Before you can use Electronic Verification of Rent (EVoR) for a customer, they must have verified their rent amount to us and be getting Rent Assistance. You also need to get their consent and confirm the identity of the customer and their representative if they have one. You can then use EVoR to tell us about any rent changes.
If you make a rent change using EVoR:
- you don’t have to sign a Rent Certificate
- the customer doesn’t need to verify their rent with us themselves.
When to tell us about rent updates
You must update changes to rent amounts in EVoR between 15 and 50 days before the rent changes. You can’t use EVoR outside this timeframe.
Find out more about your obligation for making rent updates.
What you can’t tell us
You can only use EVoR to update rent amounts. You can’t use EVoR to start Rent Assistance or update other accommodation details.
Customers must tell us themselves about changes to their circumstances including:
- change of address
- update in relationship status
- update in sharer status
- the purchase or sale of real estate
- start or change a rent deduction for Centrepay.
