Help adding overseas vaccinations

Get help adding your overseas COVID-19 vaccinations to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

If you’ve received an approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine while overseas, you can have it recorded on the AIR when you get to Australia. It will then appear on all of the following:

Get a recognised vaccination provider in Australia to record your overseas vaccinations on the AIR, if both of these apply:

  • the vaccine is approved for use or recognised in Australia
  • you received it on or after 1 March 2020.

You’ll need documents translated in English that show what vaccinations you’ve had.

If you’ve received mixed doses overseas of approved or recognised vaccines, you can also have these recorded to the AIR.

Once they’ve been added, you’ll be able to get your proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.

If you’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine overseas that isn’t approved for use or recognised in Australia, it can’t be added to the AIR.

If you’re planning to request an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

When your vaccination provider in Australia records your overseas vaccinations on the AIR, they must:

  • include the country of vaccination
  • enter the batch number correctly.

If your record of COVID-19 vaccinations doesn’t have a country of vaccination recorded, you may not be able to get an international certificate.

You may also need a batch number on your international certificate to enter some countries.

If these details are incorrect, you need to ask your vaccination provider to update them on the AIR.
