Rent Assistance

You don’t need to submit a claim for Rent Assistance. We’ll check if you can get it when you either:

submit a claim for an eligible payment
already get an eligible payment from us, and you tell us that your address, accommodation or rent details have changed.

If you’re eligible, we may ask you to complete a Rent Certificate or provide a formal tenancy agreement. You only need to do this if we ask you to.

You can get Rent Assistance if you get an eligible payment and your eligible rent or accommodation costs are over a certain amount.

The amount of Rent Assistance you can get depends on how much rent you pay.

You have a responsibility to tell us about changes to your rent or accommodation details if you get Rent Assistance.
