There are some rules an organisation needs to meet for us to approve it as a voluntary work organisation.
Your organisation can apply if it’s not for profit and either:
- a community based organisation
- a government sector agency.
A community based organisation must provide services to the community. All profits from the organisation must go back into the services provided. Profits mustn't go to the members, even if the organisation winds up.
Once we approve an organisation, it can offer volunteer work to registered job seekers. Certain job seekers can include this work as part of their approved activities.
