Work Bonus helps you keep more of your pension if you get income from working

Published: 10 March 2026

If you earn eligible income, we'll use your Work Bonus balance before we reduce your payment.

If you're 67 years or older and get Age Pension, Carer Payment or Disability Support Pension, you'll get credit to your Work Bonus balance each fortnight.

This balance offsets eligible income you earn from work in your income test, which means you keep more of your pension payment.

You don't need to apply for the Work Bonus, we'll apply it automatically if you're eligible.

You can check your Work Bonus balance in your Centrelink online account through myGov.

Different payments have different rules. Find out more about Work Bonus.
