What to do if you’ve paid too much using Centrepay

If you’ve paid the wrong amount to a business, it’s important to know what rights you have and what you can do.

Businesses can't keep extra payments as credit if you won't use them.

If you’ve paid too much to a business using Centrepay, you can do any of the following things:

  • reduce your deduction amount
  • suspend your deduction for up to 13 weeks
  • cancel your deduction
  • contact the business for a refund.
