We’re changing some of the things you can use Centrepay for

Published: 20 October 2025

As part of Centrepay reforms, we’re making changes to our service reasons to better protect you. Some service reasons will be removed by 1 November 2026.

Service reasons we’re removing include the following:

  • social and recreational commitments
  • household goods lease and rental
  • funeral expenses
  • basic household items
  • motor vehicle registration
  • employment expenses
  • savings.

We’ll also remove some goods and services, including the following:

  • any purchases from Butchers
  • food and groceries from stores (other than in remote communities)
  • self-storage, removalists, fuel and car repairs
  • accounting and other services.

If you cancel a deduction for any of these, you won’t be able to restart it.
